Taylor Lautner and Restless Leg Syndrome

Restless Leg Syndrome could be put to rest

By Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Michael Roizen, Special to the Province
Restless Leg Syndrome is about to get a name change: Hello Willis-Ekbom disease. They're punking us, right? Well, actually, no. But we YOU Docs suspect you might have preferred it get renamed for Taylor Lautner. He battles the disease in real life, and his werewolf character, Jacob Black, is pretty restless too! But the International RLS Study Group has decided that:

Since legs are supposed to move, not stay at rest; AND sometimes legs, arms and torso are involved; AND "syndrome" describes a collection of symptoms, but RLS is a specific neurologic disease, RLS (in name only) will be leaving the building. Hopefully, the disease itself soon will get its walking papers.

Julia Jones AGAIN Helping Spread the Word!

January 9th by Richard Walker

Julia Jones, Chickasaw/Choctaw, best known for her performance in the Twilight films (most recently The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1), appears in a public service announcement supporting legislation that would expand the Quileute Nation’s reservation and resolve a 50-year boundary dispute with Olympic National Park.
The legislation would enable Quileute to move its administration offices, a school and homes upland from a tsunami zone. The Senate Bill is SB636; the companion bill in the House is HR1162. To track the bills, visit thomas.gov and type in the bill number. (Jones’ PSA can be viewed below.)

It’s the second time Jones has helped Quileute. In December 2010, she was guest of honor at the annual “Cherish our Children” event in La Push. The fundraiser benefits children from both the Forks and La Push areas during the holiday season. Her appearance resulted in a record-setting year for the event.

“The Quileute Tribe is so grateful to Julia for taking the time out of her busy schedule to film this PSA,” Chairwoman Bonita Cleveland said. “We are grateful to all the actors who have sent out messages of encouragement and support regarding our legislation. Tinsel Korey, Gil Birmingham, Kiowa Gordan and Alex Meraz have all reached out to the fans and we are so humbled by their efforts. Chaske Spencer submitted a statement to the Senate Commission on Indian Affairs when he appeared before the committee this past year.

“The fan sites have assisted with getting the message out that our tribe is in desperate need to move to higher ground and time is running out.”

Taylor Lautner's Abduction per Family Video Chain

Taylor Lautner may be best known for his supporting role in the "Twilight" films, but he takes center stage in his latest movie "Abduction." With a talented supported cast, the gripping action movie paints a bright future for the young star and the new release DVD hits shelves January 17.

Nathan Harper (Lautner) is given the shock of his life one day when a school assignment on missing children reveals that he is in fact a Steven Price, a young boy that went missing years ago. The story goes much deeper than that, however, and Nathan soon finds himself fighting for his life.

A psychologist Dr. Geraldine Bennett (Sigourney Weaver) tells Nathan's real father was a former CIA agent that angered both the CIA and Serbian terrorists when he stole a list of corrupt agent's names. Now, the terrorists want to kidnap him in order get the list returned to them.

"Abduction" will certainly appeal to fans of action thrillers including "The Bourne Identity" as well as the Shia LeBeouf film "Eagle Eye."

Justin Rain in Star Phoenix

 Actor turns struggles into success

When Justin Rain was a teenager he pointed and laughed at the drama kids. But now the actor, who grew up in Prince Albert, has found his creative expression and roles in TV, film and theatre.

Rain has a lead role on the APTN series Blackstone and even had a small part in Twilight: Eclipse, but he had to escape a destructive lifestyle on his way to success.

“In my high school years I was big with partying, doing drugs and getting into trouble. It’s kind of a foggy time in my life. But I kicked a lot of that in Grade 12 and stayed away from the people I needed to in order to kick my habits,” said Rain, who was back in Saskatchewan during the Christmas holidays

Top 5 Biggest Moments for Taylor Lautner in 2011!
Andreas Rentz (bop and tiger beat)

The end of 2011 is near – seriously, there’s less than a month to go! But luckily, there’s just enough time left for us to recap the biggest moments of the year for some of our favorite celebs, new and old. This year has HUGE for lots of them, with big movie roles and headlining tours and much more going on in their lives. With Top 5 Biggest Moments, we’ll break down the top five moments of our fave’s lives this year! So sit back, relax and enjoy what we think their biggest and brightest moments were in 2011!Ready to take a look at Taylor’s biggest moments in 2011?

1. His Bromantic Kiss with his Costar Rob at the MTV Movie Awards Okay, so maybe it was a bit of a surprise to Taylor at first, but it was some of the hottest gossip in June once it happened. These two are totally goofy together and, to be completely honest, that “kiss” was probably the funniest thing to happen to either of them all year. It’s definitely memorable!

2. Starring in AbductionHe wasn’t a werewolf in this flick, but we loved the character change anyway! Taylor definitely proved his acting chops by going outside of the wolfy role that we totally love. This film was action-packed and simply incredible. We loved seeing Taylor try something different.

3. Getting His Hand Prints added to Grauman’s Chinese Theater

Last month, Taylor and his Twilight costars got to immortalize their hand prints alongside those of some of Hollywood’s finest actors! It sounds like a pretty big honor and Taylor’s grin in all of the pics from that day is evidence that he was feeling pretty excited about it, too!

Taylor Lautner: 'I'm Not Team Jacob'

Lautner doesn't care who ends up with Bella Swan...

Taylor Lautner has said that he doesn't care which character Bella Swan end up with in 'The Twilight Saga'.

Lautner plays werewolf Jacob Black in the adaptations of Stephenie Myer's series, against Robert Pattinson's vampire Edward Cullen, both of whom vie for the love of Kristen Stewart's Bella.

He told Irish TV show Xpose: "I'm not on a team to be honest, my personal opinion is that Bella couldn't have gone wrong with either of them. I'm team Switzerland, completely neutral. She's got her lover and she's got her best friend."
Having been forced to go topless for most of the series, Lautner was delighted to have the chance to keep his shirt on in 'Breaking Dawn - Part 1', saying: "I was very grateful to pass off the shirtless duties to Rob and Kristen in this movie, they've got their clothes off much more than I do."
'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1' is on general release.

Kristen Stewart will Miss Taylor Lautner

Kristen Stewart has been talking up the bond she has with her co-stars in Twilight, leaving a special mention for … no, not real-life boyfriend/on-screen lover Robert Pattinson, but Taylor Lautner, who has played Jacob Black in the film series since 2008.

The 21-year-old says she always does her best to ensure her or Lautner keep in touch, insisting that they bonded strongly on the set of the vampire movie:
“When I don’t see Taylor for a while I take out my phone and call him. It’s not like I see him all the time or every day, it’s just that when you work with people like that, you can give so much. It’s so comfortable, you can do no wrong – they’ve got you. We get along together and I think it shows.”
The 21-year-old actress got close to her 19-year-old co-star while filming the vampire movies. and says phone calls and emails help her keep in touch with Lautner.
Not that Pattinson should be getting too jealous – Stewart says she has become close with all her cast-mates, and believes that such friendship was critical when it came to making so many damn Twilight movies:
“I couldn’t have done this without them. I can’t imagine what this movie would have been if I didn’t have really solid – and always growing – relationships with them.”

Taylor Lautner # 9 Hollywood earner this year!

How much will Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, the three young stars of 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' earn for their work on the two-part series finale?

Hard to say; in addition to their salaries of $25 million apiece, they're also entitled to 7.5 percent of the gross, which could raise their fees by tens of millions more. ('Breaking Dawn Part 1' has already earned $283.5 million worldwide since opening on Friday.) It doesn't seem like they'll be able to keep earning such lofty paychecks after 'Twilight,' but for now, they're among the highest paid young actors in Hollywood.

Team Edward may have won the battle for Bella's heart, but Team Jacob raked in more bucks.

Vanity Fair rated the 19-year-old Lautner the ninth biggest earner in Hollywood this year (Stewart was No. 13, Pattinson No. 15), with an estimated take of $33.5 million. That includes $25 million for the Breaking Dawn ' two-parter, plus $7.5 million for his recent thriller Abduction and another $1 million in royalties.

Then again, 'Abduction' flopped at  the box office, casting doubt on whether Lautner can succeed in roles other than hunky werewolf. Still, as long as he maintains his ab-tastic physique, he shouldn't have any trouble finding work

Lucky Mag- We Love Julia Jones!

New Twilight Star We Love: Julia Jones

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 opened last week, but Kristen Stewart and Ashley Green aren’t the only cute female cast members.

Possibly the best-dressed and most adorable girl to ever play a werewolf, Julia Jones’ off-screen look is worlds away from what she wears in the Twilight series. When she’s not busy playing the role of the tomboyishly rugged Leah Clearwater, a member of the La Push werewolf pack, Jones is dressed to kill (just not vampires).

With a resumé dotted with modeling jobs for Levi’s, The Gap and Esprit, it’s only natural that this actress has a certain flair for style. An avid fashion fan, Jones sat front row at the spring shows of some of fashion’s most notable names, including BCBG Max Azria, Tadashi Shoji, Charlotte Ronson and Rebecca Minkoff and wore an incredible white Dior gown to the premier of the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. Talk about good taste!

Jones typically embraces simple silhouettes, quiet colors and rich textures, taking a “less is more” approach when it comes to accessorizing. And in doing so, she’s created a personal style that’s at once timeless and feminine. Kristen and Ashley, watch your backs!
