Taking the Asylum approach...

Shock Till You Drop reports that Lionsgate Home Entertainment is taking a page out of The Asylum's book and releasing a knock-off of Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters three days before the film arrives in theaters.

They will release the DVD of Hansel & Gretel: Warriors of Witchcraft on January 22. Booboo Stewart (Twilight and his sister Fivel Stewart will star. The film is directed by David DeCoteau (Puppet Master III, Creepozoids).

Here's a synopsis: The two play Jonah and Ella Mazer (Hansel and Gretel) were happy, normal teenagers sent to an elite boarding school. The Head Master, Sebastian, seems to know more about the brother and sister than they know about themselves. As both get to know their high school classmates, strange and frightening things begin to happen. When their new friends explain that they are all descendant from powerful witches and that they've been waiting for Hansel and Gretel to join them and complete a new generation of the coven, both refuse to believe them. It's not until Hansel discovers a message from his mother in an old leather-bound book of spells hidden in the school library, that he understands their true and dangerous destiny – slaying witches.

This past weekend- 

1. THE BOYS OF SUMMER

A concert featuring three former teen idol singers from the 2000s — Ryan Cabrera, Aaron Carter and Greg Raposo — would be interesting enough. But the Boys of Summer show has added the group 5-L, made up of Booboo Stewart and his sister, Fivel (pronounced "5-L").
Stewart is an actor with many credits, but none as high profile as werewolf Seth Clearwater in the "Twilight" films. He is featured prominently in the final movie, to be released in November.
Of course, the others are no slouches. Cabrera was a top teen heartthrob in 2004, with Top 10 pop hits "On the Way Down" and "True." Carter was the dominant idol a decade ago as 13-year-old singer of "That's How I Beat Shaq." And Raposo was in the boy band Dream Street.
