Julia Jones Returns to Boston to promote BD DVD

 

Julia Jones, who grew up in Jamaica Plain, returned to Boston recently to promote a DVD for "Twilight," in which she plays Leah Clearwater.

A local actor who is making it big in Hollywood came home to Boston recently.

Julia Jones, who grew up in JP, was in the city to promote a DVD of "The Twilight Saga — Breaking Dawn, Part I."

She made the press rounds, telling the Globe she hopes to stay in movies, though she has enjoyed her television roles, such as Dr. Kaya Montoya in the final season of "ER."

She told the Herald that Boston Latin was harder than Columbia University, and that though she lives in L.A. she'll never be a Lakers fan. Speaking of her college education, she told Improper Bostonian that her English degree has been quite useful in analyzing characters she's asked to play.

Actress Julia Jones, who grew up in Jamaica Plain, was back in Boston yesterday to promote the release of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1’’ DVD, which technically comes out at midnight.

The Boston Latin grad (above), who has been in the “Twilight’’ world ever since she was cast as the only female werewolf in the franchise, told us yesterday during an interview at the Liberty Hotel that the vampire movies are still a huge part of her life, even though she finished filming both parts of “Breaking Dawn’’ last April. After this DVD release, she and the rest of the cast (including Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson) will begin to hype “Breaking Dawn - Part 2,’’ which comes out this fall. And after all these years, the fans are no less interested in her sad character, the brooding Leah Clearwater.

Retailer to celebrate the recent release of Twilight saga with the exclusive collectible wedding edition of Breaking Dawn Part 1

BENTONVILLE, Ark., Jan. 30, 2012 – Calling all Twi-hards! Walmart cordially invites Twilight fans to celebrate the marriage of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen on Feb. 10 in more than 2,700 stores. Twilight fans at Walmart will get the following exclusive content with every purchase of the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, a 2-disc DVD or Blu-ray:

• Bella’s Wedding Special Edition featuring the collectible wedding dress packaging
• Fabric poster of Bella and Edward’s big day
• Music videos from Bruno Mars and Christina Perri

Starting at 11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, Walmart will throw the ultimate Twilight party with special giveaways*, movie trivia and a bakery stocked with Twilight-themed treats such as cupcakes and cakes. Target Hosts Late-Night DVD Release Event for “Twilight Saga” Fans 
Event features an exclusive first-look at scenes from the upcoming final movie and chance to score a real prop flower from the famed wedding scene 

MINNEAPOLIS (Jan. 17, 2011) —Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) announced that nearly 500 stores across the country will extend store hours to host a release event for Summit Entertainment’s “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” available on DVD and Blu-ray. Beginning at 11 p.m. on Feb. 10, fans will be shown an exclusive, world premiere scene from the fifth and final film, Breaking Dawn – Part 2. Then, at midnight, fans can purchase the Target exclusive Breaking Dawn – Part 1 DVD Limited Collector’s Edition that includes an authentic prop flower from the wedding scene beautifully encased in an acrylic keepsake.  The special edition DVD and Blu-ray will also be available.
